These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Buildtable, a game studio management platform operated by The ALACE Group, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using Buildtable, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
If you are using Buildtable on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and "you" refers to that organization.

When you create a Buildtable account or access our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Your agreement to both documents is captured at the same time during account creation or waitlist signup.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Buildtable.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Buildtable. Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may use the platform, but any paid plan requires involvement and consent from a parent or legal guardian. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent that you meet these age requirements.
We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts. If we become aware that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will terminate it and delete associated data.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us promptly at hi@buildtable.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it reasonably up to date. You may not create an account on behalf of someone else or use another person's account without their permission.
Buildtable provides tools for indie game studios and teams, including playtest session management, bug tracking, localization management, public roadmaps, and team collaboration features. We offer a free tier and will offer paid subscription plans in the future.
We provide Buildtable on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee any specific level of uptime, availability, or performance, and we are not obligated to provide service level agreements.
Buildtable currently offers a free tier with defined usage limits. No payment information is required for the free tier.
When paid plans become available, billing will be processed through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the rate and frequency disclosed at the time of purchase.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will not be charged for the next cycle. We do not provide refunds for any amounts already billed, including partial periods.
If you are on the free tier and your account is terminated for any reason, no payment is owed and no refund is applicable.
You retain full ownership of all content, data, and materials you upload or create within Buildtable, including bug reports, playtest responses, project data, and any other content ("Your Content").
By using Buildtable, you grant The ALACE Group, LLC a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to the extent necessary to provide the service to you. We will not use Your Content for any other purpose.
We do not currently offer AI-generated features that process Your Content. If AI features are introduced in the future, Your Content will never be used to train AI models without your explicit, separate consent.
You are solely responsible for Your Content. You represent that you have all rights necessary to upload it and that it does not violate any applicable law or these Terms.
You agree not to use Buildtable to:
Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to us, other users, or the service. For non-critical violations, we will generally attempt to notify you before taking action, but we are not obligated to do so.
You may delete your account at any time by following the account deletion process within the platform or by contacting us at hi@buildtable.app.
Upon termination, your right to access and use Buildtable ceases immediately. Handling of Your Content following termination or cancellation is described in our Privacy Policy.
Your use of Buildtable is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at https://buildtable.app/privacy. The Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, your rights regarding your data, and our data retention practices. By agreeing to these Terms, you also agree to our Privacy Policy.
Buildtable is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The ALACE Group, LLC expressly disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from bugs, viruses, or other harmful components. You use Buildtable at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The ALACE Group, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use Buildtable.
In no event will our total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms exceed the greater of: (a) the total amounts you paid to us in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) zero dollars ($0) if you have not made any payments to us.
These limitations apply regardless of the theory of liability and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless The ALACE Group, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of Buildtable in violation of these Terms; (b) Your Content; or (c) your violation of any applicable law or third-party right.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at hi@buildtable.app and give us 30 days to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
If the dispute is not resolved informally, you and The ALACE Group, LLC agree to resolve it through final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules (for individual users) or Commercial Arbitration Rules (for business users), as applicable. The arbitration will be conducted in Maryland or remotely, and the arbitrator's decision will be enforceable in any court of competent jurisdiction.
You and The ALACE Group, LLC each waive the right to participate in a class action, class-wide arbitration, or any other representative proceeding. All disputes must be brought on an individual basis only.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking emergency injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm pending arbitration.
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Non-material changes (such as clarifications or corrections) may take effect immediately upon posting.
Your continued use of Buildtable after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using Buildtable and may delete your account before the changes take effect.
We will always maintain the current version of these Terms at https://buildtable.app/terms.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and The ALACE Group, LLC regarding Buildtable and supersede any prior agreements or understandings on the same subject.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it in the future.
You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights freely, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
